I think everyone of all ages love cookies in a jar!
I’m not sure why it’s different to pull out a cookie from a jar as opposed to a bag, packet, or even box….but somehow it’s a whole different experience!
By just using a mason jar or any jar, and using some labels, or even a tag and some ribbon, you can transform every day cookies into something fun!
Try this on a smaller scale for favors or with very large jars for a cookie buffet for Shavuos or any event!
Add tags that say the type of cookie in each jar or use a place setting card displayed in front of each jar.
And now for my most favored Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie:
Here it is:
Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 sticks margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups oats
1 tsp Baking Powder
4 oz. baking chocolate, chopped small – optional
3/4 box raisins – optional
1/2 cup chopped nuts – optional
1 bag chocolate chips
makes 4 dozen
oven: 375 12 – 15 minutes
Beat Margarine and sugars. Add eggs, vanilla and then add dry ingredients.
(I omit the raisins and chopped nuts cuz they just take up room for more chocolate!:)
