I have received many requests to post recipes so here is my favorite basic yellow cake!
I made 150 cupcakes today for our Purim by the Sea.
I love these cupcake liners especially since they look like bubbles in the ocean! (www.bakeitpretty.com)
I plan to frost these with chocolate frosting and gently lay an Orange Gummy Fish on top to continue the theme’s look. (photos coming:)
Ok heres the recipe! Delicious to eat and simple to double or triple as needed:)
Basic Yellow Cake                                                       (Makes 1 9×13 pan or 24 cupcakes or 2 8″ rounds)
3 Cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 Tbsp. baking Powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup oil
1 cup orange juice
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
Mix all wet ingredients in mixer, then add all dry ingredients and mix again well. Pour into pans (lined with parchment paper or cupcake liners) and bake at 325 degrees for 15 – 20 minutes for cupcakes, 25 – 40 minutes for cake. Or until cake tester comes out clean.

Chana, I just read some of your blog posts about your cute son, Chaim Boruch. I especially enjoyed the Shabbos Snuggle, including the picture ;), the Silent Song poem and the birthday brochos that you shared in honor of his 5th (?) birthday. Wishing you much nachas from Chaim Boruch sheyichye and continued miracles iy’H! Happy Purim preps, Rivka
btw, just made these… substituted one cup of flour with oatmeal and they came out great. Kids didn’t know the difference!
